What documents are needed to file my return with Tax Nerds?

Since most of our returns are prepared digitally, we request all necessary income forms such as a W2, 1099, or ledger/statements for cash income. We also request a photo of a valid identification (license, passport, etc). Along with these items, we ask that you submit an Identity Check which is a picture of you holding your license next to your face. Lastly, for any credits, such as the Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit, our Tax Nerds will document answers to questions they ask you and also require you to upload proof of Child Residency for dependents you claim.

If I didn't receive any stimulus payments, can I claim it on my return?

If you are eligible for the stimulus and you did not receive it, the IRS allows you to claim it as the 'Recovery Rebate Credit' on your tax return. Our Tax Nerds will ask you to provide from 1444 to verify the stimulus amounts you have received (if any) to make sure you are claiming an accurate amount. The same rule applies for the Advanced Child Tax Credit, however the form to verify your amount received is 6419.
